Origin of the business park

The Catala site has a rich history, dating back to 1792 when Anna Van Haelen established a water mill complex. In 1803, the grain and oil mills were converted into paper mills, and the site evolved into the Catala paper factory. After many successful years and expansions, the factory faced challenging times, ultimately leading to its closure in 2015.  

From that moment on, the industrial site remained vacant and deteriorated until it was acquired in 2019 with the vision of transforming it into Catala Business Park—a vibrant business campus featuring spaces for company units, showrooms, warehouses, and offices.  

The year 2025 is dedicated to construction activities that will breathe new life into the campus. Following the acquisition of the necessary permits in 2024, construction has begun on two multi-business buildings, offering a total of 38 business units for sale or lease.
